Unit Coordinating - Associate Degree: Health
Unit Coordinators perform routine administrative and
clinical tasks in hospitals: patient history, vital
signs, lab tests, draw blood, ordering and purchasing,
drug re-fills. Our graduates are prepared to pass the
examination for Registered Health Unit Coordinator.
Medical
Assisting - Associate Degree: Medical assistants
perform routine administrative and clinical tasks in
doctors' offices and in clinics: patient history, vital
signs, lab tests, draw blood, ordering and purchasing,
drug re-fills. Our graduates are prepared to pass the
examination for Registered Medical Assistant.
Medical
Coding - Associate Degree: Every medical service
(test, office visit, injection, etc.) has a numerical
code associated with it so that insurance companies
who pay the claim can easily identify the problem. We
have an extensive curriculum to prepare our students
for the concepts that coders must understand: Anatomy
and physiology, etiology (cause of disease), symptoms,
signs, diagnoses, treatments. They learn various medical
records and have detailed knowledge of a variety of
specific coding systems. In their seventh quarter Antonelli
students participate in an externship 4 hours a day
5 days a week.
Medical
Transcription - Associate Degree: This program
teaches the use of headsets and transcription machines
to listen to recordings by physicians and other health
care professionals. Learn to transcribe a variety of
medical reports about emergency room visits, diagnostic
imaging studies, operations, chart reviews, and final
summaries. Training includes understanding medical terminology,
excellent English grammar, and punctuation. Must be
very familiar with personal computer, word processing,
and the finer tricks of word processing to increase
speed. Final quarter students work an externship 4 hours
a day 5 days a week.
Medical
Office Administration - Diploma: This program
provides students with the skills necessary to work
side by side with physicians. Career choices include
entry-level positions as an EKG technician, pharmacy
technician, medical secretary, laboratory technician,
insurance technician, insurance physical technician,
phlebotomist, and clinical assistant.

Biomedical
Equipment Technology - Certificate : With a
Biomedical Equipment Technology degree you can become
an essential member of the health care team. You can
specialize in instrumentation and/or medical equipment
maintenance and repair with emphasis on troubleshooting
techniques. The core courses include, in addition to
analog and digital fundamentals, medical terminology,
biomedical instrumentation, and medical equipment troubleshooting.
This is a demanding and potentially very rewarding program
that is not right for everyone. An externship course
is required in this program.
Practical
Nursing - Certificate : The Practical Nursing
program prepares the student to perform as a member
of a healthcare team and to function under the supervision
of a physician and/or a registered nurse in providing
nursing care. The program includes classroom, laboratory,
and patient care learning experiences in a clinical
setting.
